Visual storytelling through a photo essay

Challenge: This photo essay was created for a visual communications course. With full creative range, I was able to combine my passion for photography with my love for biking; presented together through visual storytelling.

Results: This photo essay was presented as a PDF document with open facing pages fit for magazine A4 size printing. When printed, I plan to use thicker card-stock to endure all-weather - if its taken out on the bike trails.

Process: This assignment required I follow photography rules, such as leading lines, balance, framing, and depth of field, as well as well as create intriguing captions to build a strong narrative, and present this visual story together as a photo essay. By going into depth about one image in the essay, I was able to explain my reasoning for why I took the photo: the story behind it and its place within the larger narrative - and how I took the photo: the camera settings, framing, editing.
