The Root Cellar

Brand photography

Challenge: The Root Cellar is one of Victoria’s local grocery markets. A hub for “farm fresh and dirt cheap” produce, The Root Cellar also thrives on community involvement and providing a healthy, nutritious option for Victoria locals. The Root Cellar first approached me in 2020 for a photo shoot at their McKenzie location - and since then, a few more photo shoots at their new Cook St. Village location.

Process: When shooting for The Root Cellar, I knew I wanted to incorporate authentic, candid, and bright photos to capture their unique story. When capturing any business, brand, or event, I bring forward creative ideas to pair well with the original leads. For The Root Cellar, I was able to frame moments in new ways - to tell their story in a way that hadn't been done.

Results: After delivering a gallery of a few hundred images, I build a relationship with each client. Photography for me doesn't require too many guidelines, rather I make each project its own and allow myself to truly tell each unique story.
